Fighting Plastic Pollution in the Agricultural and Food Industries<\/strong><\/h1>\n

RECOVER has been developed innovative biotic symbiosis for plastic biodegradation and synthesis to solve their end-of-life challenges in the agriculture and food industries. This EU-funded project promotes the circular economy by supporting the removal of non-recyclable agricultural waste, plastic packaging, and microplastics.<\/p>\n

The Solution to the Problem<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The project promotes the circularity of plastic and agricultural waste streams through innovative biotechnological solutions. But, what are these solutions?<\/p>\n

This includes a combination of microorganisms, novel enzymes, earthworms, and insects that will work collaboratively, not only to degrade plastics but also to transform them into added-value products. Among its ambitious objectives, RECOVER will develop processes for the bioremediation of plastic pollution in soils and compost, and the biotransformation of conventional plastics into bio-fertilizers and biodegradable plastics for use in agricultural and food packaging applications.<\/p>\n

Combatiendo la contaminaci\u00f3n de los pl\u00e1sticos en el sector agr\u00edcola y alimentario<\/h1>\n

RECOVER se ha dise\u00f1ado para resolver los desaf\u00edos que suponen la utilizaci\u00f3n de los pl\u00e1sticos en su fin de vida tanto en la industria agr\u00edcola como alimentaria, por medio de biodegradaci\u00f3n y s\u00edntesis de pl\u00e1sticos. Este es un proyecto europeo que promueve la econom\u00eda circular a trav\u00e9s de ayudar en la eliminaci\u00f3n de residuos agrarios no reciclables y envases pl\u00e1sticos, adem\u00e1s de micropl\u00e1sticos.<\/p>\n

La soluci\u00f3n al problema<\/h2>\n

El proyecto promueve la circularidad de los flujos de residuos de productos pl\u00e1sticos y agr\u00edcolas a trav\u00e9s de soluciones biotecnol\u00f3gicas innovadoras. Pero, \u00bfcu\u00e1les son estas soluciones?:<\/p>\n

Entre ella se incluyen una combinaci\u00f3n de microorganismos, enzimas novedosas, lombrices de tierra e insectos que trabajar\u00e1n de manera colaborativa, no solo para degradar pl\u00e1sticos, sino tambi\u00e9n para transformarlos en productos de valor a\u00f1adido. Entre sus ambiciosos objetivos, RECOVER desarrollar\u00e1 procesos para la biorremediaci\u00f3n de la contaminaci\u00f3n por pl\u00e1sticos en suelos y compost, y la biotransformaci\u00f3n de pl\u00e1sticos convencionales en biofertilizantes y pl\u00e1sticos biodegradables para aplicaciones en envases agr\u00edcolas y alimentarios.<\/p>\n
